Orthodox Program

Day 01: Arrival & Galilee City

Arrival at Ben Gurion airport, meet and assist by our representative, then drive to Nazareth to visit Mary’s Well where the Angel Gabriel told Mary she will give birth to Jesus, also visit the Greek Orthodox Church of Annunciation, where we see frescoes of all the main Orthodox saints. Then continue to Cana to visit the Greek Orthodox Church, site of Jesus’ first miracle. Overnight in Nazareth.

Day 02: Sea of Galilee

Visit Tabgha – the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes, the Church of the Primacy of St Peter, and the Church of the Beatitudes.  Visit Capernaum – a Roman town and a center of Jesus’ activities in the Galilee – site of St Peter’s house. After lunch, visit Har Megiddo, and then return to our hotel in Nazareth for dinner and overnight.

Day 03:  Mount Tabor & Jacob’s Well heading to Jerusalem

We start the day with a visit to Mt Tabor and the Church of Transfiguration.  We drive through Biblical Samaria to reach Jacob’s Well. Later on drive to Bethlehem. Overnight in Bethlehem.

Day 04: Jerusalem

Enjoy the view from the Mount of Olives, visit the Ascension chapel and the Pater Noster church. Continue walking to Dominus Flevit, the garden and the church of Gethsemane. Continue through the Via Dolorosa to visit St. Anne’s church, the Flagellation and the Condemnation churches then the Holy Sepulcher.. Overnight in Bethlehem.

Day 05: Mar Saba area & Bethlehem 

Begin the day by visiting the Monastery of St Theodosius and Mar Saba (optional) which was founded by the monk Saba in the 5th century. On the way back to Bethlehem, we drop a visit to the Shepherd’s fields in Biet Sahour. Then drive to Bethlehem to visit the Nativity church and Milk Grotto. Overnight in Bethlehem.

Day 06: Jericho

After breakfast, drive to Bethany to visit Lazarus Tomb. Continue to the Dead Sea, to visit and view Mt. Of Temptation (Cable car fees included) , and visit the Monastery of St. George of Koziba in Wadi Kelt Drive back to our hotel in Bethlehem for dinner and overnight.

Day 07: Jerusalem & Airport

Free morning, in the afternoon we move to Mt Zion to visit the Room of the Last Supper, King David’s Tomb and the Church of the Dormition, in addition, we visit Ein Karem, village, this is the site where John the Baptist was born. End of the day, transfer to airport for departure.
