Catholic Program 2

Day 1:

Connect with onward flight to Tel Aviv, Meet coach and guide, and transfer to our Hotel in Jerusalem for 4 nights, dinner, bed & breakfast.

Day 2:

Drive to the Mount of Olives for group photo, and view the Old City. Visit the Ascension Dome, Pater Noster church, Dominus Flevit, Assumption church and Grotto, and the Garden of Gethsemane. Afternoon visit church of St Peter in Gallicantu – church of the Cock-Crow, for Mass. See the dungeon where Jesus was held on Holy Thursday night. Visit Ein Karem, and the churches of the Visitation & St John the Baptist.

Day 3:

Morning in the Old City of Jerusalem. Visit church of St Anne and Pool of Bethesda. Walk the Via Dolorosa to the church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Rock of Calvary. Visit the Western Wall. Walk on Mount Zion to visit the church of the Dormition, Tomb of David, and the Room of the Last Supper.

Day 4:

Morning drive to Bethlehem. Visit the church of the Nativity, see the birthplace of Jesus and the Holy Manger. Visit the churches of St Catherine, St Joseph, the Holy Innocents, and celebrate Mass in the church of St Jerome. Visit the Shepherds Fields, and the lovely Milk Grotto. Return to Jerusalem.

Day 5:

Mass in Bethany, and see the tomb of Lazarus. Drive via the Inn of the Good Samaritan to the Dead Sea. Time to relax and float on the water. See where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found at Qumran. Drive into Jericho and see the Mount of Temptation, and the Sycamore tree of Zacchaeus. Continue along the Jordan Valley to Tiberias, and check into our hotel in Tiberias for 4 nights, dinner, bed & breakfast.

Day 6:

Visit the Mount of Beatitudes, overlooking the Sea of Galilee, for Mass and full reading of the great Sermon on the Mount. Boat trip across the Sea of Galilee with relevant Bible readings. Afternoon visit to Capernaum, see the Synagogue and the excavations of Peters House. Visit the church of the multiplication of the Loaves & Fish at Tabgha, and the church of the Primacy of Peter on the lake-shore.

Day 7:

Drive to Nazareth and visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, see the Cave home of the Holy Family, St Joseph’s workshop, and Mary’s Well. Continue to Cana, and visit the church of the Wedding Feast – site of Jesus’ first miracle. Afternoon drive to Haifa, and visit the Carmelite shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Day 8:

Drive to Mount Tabor, and ascend by taxi for Mass at the church of the Transfiguration. Enjoy a view of the Valley of Armageddin. Continue to Yardinet, Baptismal site on the River Jordan, where we renew our Baptismal Vows. Afternoon free in Tiberias.

Day 9:

Early breakfast, and transfer to Tel Aviv airport for our return flight back home.
